First, the new battery charging
New batteries are usually active. After a period of time, the battery will go to sleep. At this time the capacity is lower than the normal value, the use time will be shortened accordingly. Lithium-ion battery activation method is very simple, as long as after 35 normal charge and discharge cycles can activate the battery, restore the normal capacity.
Two, old battery charging
- Charging method
An old battery is a battery that has been charged and discharged several times, not a dead battery. Lithium-ion battery life is independent of the number of charge and discharge, it has no memory effect, no matter how you charge, will not affect the number of charging cycles. So do not use the battery to completely no power when charging, it is best to be able to charge, as far as possible to full battery, charging time to 2-3 hours is appropriate, of course, you can not full.
- Charging voltage
The safe operating voltage range for lithium-ion batteries is 2.8 to 4.2V. Below or above this voltage range, the lithium ions in the battery become unstable. To keep the battery within safe limits, a special charger is needed. These chargers automatically adjust the charging mode based on the current state of the battery.
- Charging tools
Lithium-ion batteries need to be charged using special chargers, which can ensure the safety of charging. When the charger is working, it charges the battery at a constant current. As the battery voltage increases, the charger increases the charging voltage at the same time to speed up the charging speed. When the battery reaches the 4.2V cutoff voltage, the battery is only about 70% charged (not fully charged). At this point, the charger continues to charge the battery at a constant voltage and a decreasing current. When the value is less than 0.1A, the battery voltage is still detected to continue to rise, and then the charging is stopped.
- Charge regularly
Lithium-ion batteries that are not used for a long time should be stored in a cool and dry place in a semi-electric state. Storing the battery when it is fully charged can cause damage, but if it is not fully charged, the battery may become damaged and therefore unusable. In the storage process, complete a charging cycle and do a power calibration every 3-6 months.
